In 2011, Gopalganj had population of 2,562,012 of which male and female were 1,267,666 and 1,294,346 respectively. In 2001 census, Gopalganj had a population of 2,152,638 of which males were 1,075,710 and remaining 1,076,928 were females. Gopalganj District population constituted 2.46 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Gopalganj District was at 2.59 percent of Maharashtra population.
