In 2011, Kaimur had population of 1,626,384 of which male and female were 847,006 and 779,378 respectively. In 2001 census, Kaimur had a population of 1,289,074 of which males were 677,623 and remaining 611,451 were females. Kaimur District population constituted 1.56 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Kaimur District was at 1.55 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 26.17 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Kaimur District recorded increase of 30.64 percent to its population compared to 1991.
