Smallest States of India by Area
While everyone knows the largest state in India but only few knows that when it comes to smallest state its very hard to guess due to state/union territory confusion. Currently Goa is the smallest state in India while Lakshadweep is the smallest Union Territory of India. Goa comprises only 3702 sq km with population of 14.5 lakh (as per last census 2011 figure) and Lakshadweep Island comprises 30 sq km area and 64,473 population. The smaller states depends more on tourism and both Goa and Lakshadweep Islands needs to be visited to explore the sea/ocean.
