An official Census 2011 detail of Narmada, a district of Gujarat has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Gujarat. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Narmada District of Gujarat.

In 2011, Narmada had population of 590,297 of which male and female were 301,086 and 289,211 respectively. In 2001 census, Narmada had a population of 514,404 of which males were 263,986 and remaining 250,418 were females. Narmada District population constituted 0.98 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Narmada District was at 1.02 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 14.75 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Narmada District recorded increase of 14.47 percent to its population compared to 1991.
