Solan District - Population 2011-2024

An official Census 2011 detail of Solan, a district of Himachal Pradesh has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Himachal Pradesh. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Solan District of Himachal Pradesh.

In 2011, Solan had population of 580,320 of which male and female were 308,754 and 271,566 respectively. In 2001 census, Solan had a population of 500,557 of which males were 270,291 and remaining 230,266 were females. Solan District population constituted 8.45 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Solan District was at 8.24 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 15.93 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Solan District recorded increase of 30.94 percent to its population compared to 1991.


Solan Literacy Rate

Average literacy rate of Solan in 2011 were 83.68 compared to 83.68 of 2001. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy were 89.56 and 76.97 respectively. For 2001 census, same figures stood at 84.75 and 66.89 in Solan District. Total literate in Solan District were 428,578 of which male and female were 244,372 and 184,206 respectively. Solan Child Population

In census enumeration, data regarding child under 0-6 age were also collected for all districts including Solan. There were total 68,137 children under age of 0-6 against 66,434 of 2001 census. Of total 68,137 male and female were 35,884 and 32,253 respectively. Child Sex Ratio as per census 2011 was 899 compared to 900 of census 2001.
