Meerut District - Population 2011-2024

An official Census 2011 detail of Meerut, a district of Uttar Pradesh has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Uttar Pradesh. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Meerut District of Uttar Pradesh.

In 2011, Meerut had population of 3,443,689 of which male and female were 1,825,743 and 1,617,946 respectively. In 2001 census, Meerut had a population of 2,997,361 of which males were 1,601,578 and remaining 1,395,783 were females. Meerut District population constituted 1.72 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Meerut District was at 1.80 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 14.89 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Meerut District recorded increase of 24.06 percent to its population compared to 1991.


Meerut Literacy Rate

Average literacy rate of Meerut in 2011 were 72.84 compared to 72.84 of 2001. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy were 80.74 and 63.98 respectively. Meerut Child Population

In census enumeration, data regarding child under 0-6 age were also collected for all districts including Meerut. There were total 503,719 children under age of 0-6 against 517,960 of 2001 census.
