Haora (Howrah) District - Population 2011-2024

An official Census 2011 detail of Haora (Howrah), a district of West Bengal has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in West Bengal. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Haora District of West Bengal.

In 2011, Haora had population of 4,850,029 of which male and female were 2,500,819 and 2,349,210 respectively. In 2001 census, Haora had a population of 4,273,099 of which males were 2,241,898 and remaining 2,031,201 were females. Haora District population constituted 5.31 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Haora District was at 5.33 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 13.50 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Haora District recorded increase of 14.57 percent to its population compared to 1991.


Haora Literacy Rate
