In 2011, Kamrup Metropolitan had population of 1,253,938 of which male and female were 647,585 and 606,353 respectively. In 2001 census, Kamrup Metropolitan had a population of 1,059,578 of which males
were 571,774 and remaining 487,804 were females. Kamrup Metropolitan District population
constituted 4.02 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Kamrup Metropolitan District was at 3.98
percent of Maharashtra population.
