has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Daman and Diu. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Daman District of Daman and Diu.
In 2011, Daman had population of 191,173 of which male and female were 124,659 and 66,514 respectively. In 2001 census, Daman had a population of 113,989 of which males
were 71,634 and remaining 42,355 were females. Daman District population
constituted 78.59 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Daman District was at 72.05
percent of Maharashtra population.
There was change of 67.71 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Daman District recorded increase
of 83.55 percent to its population compared to 1991.
Daman Literacy Rate
