An official Census 2011 detail of Bellary, a district of Karnataka has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Karnataka. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Bellary District of Karnataka.

In 2011, Bellary had population of 2,452,595 of which male and female were 1,236,954 and 1,215,641 respectively. In 2001 census, Bellary had a population of 2,027,140 of which males were 1,029,714 and remaining 997,426 were females. Bellary District population constituted 4.01 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Bellary District was at 3.84 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 20.99 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Bellary District recorded increase of 22.41 percent to its population compared to 1991.
