An official Census 2011 detail of Satara, a district of Maharashtra has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Maharashtra. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Satara District of Maharashtra.

In 2011, Satara had population of 3,003,741 of which male and female were 1,510,842 and 1,492,899 respectively. In 2001 census, Satara had a population of 2,808,994 of which males were 1,408,326 and remaining 1,400,668 were females. Satara District population constituted 2.67 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Satara District was at 2.90 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 6.93 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Satara District recorded increase of 14.59 percent to its population compared to 1991.


Satara Literacy Rate

Average literacy rate of Satara in 2011 were 82.87 compared to 82.87 of 2001. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy were 89.42 and 76.31 respectively. Satara Child Population

In census enumeration, data regarding child under 0-6 age were also collected for all districts including Satara. There were total 317,885 children under age of 0-6 against 368,531 of 2001 census.
