Samba District - Population 2011-2024

An official Census 2011 detail of Samba, a district of Jammu and Kashmir has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Jammu and Kashmir. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Samba District of Jammu and Kashmir.

In 2011, Samba had population of 318,898 of which male and female were 169,124 and 149,774 respectively. In 2001 census, Samba had a population of 272,539 of which males were 143,677 and remaining 128,862 were females. Samba District population constituted 2.54 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Samba District was at 2.69 percent of Maharashtra population.

There was change of 17.01 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Samba District recorded increase of 29.01 percent to its population compared to 1991.


Samba Literacy Rate

Average literacy rate of Samba in 2011 were 81.41 compared to 81.41 of 2001. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy were 88.41 and 73.64 respectively. For 2001 census, same figures stood at 82.65 and 64.50 in Samba District. Total literate in Samba District were 228,139 of which male and female were 130,312 and 97,827 respectively. Samba Child Population

In census enumeration, data regarding child under 0-6 age were also collected for all districts including Samba. There were total 38,669 children under age of 0-6 against 38,669 of 2001 census.
