has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Jammu and Kashmir. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Samba District of Jammu and Kashmir.
In 2011, Samba had population of 318,898 of which male and female were 169,124 and 149,774 respectively. In 2001 census, Samba had a population of 272,539 of which males
were 143,677 and remaining 128,862 were females. Samba District population
constituted 2.54 percent of total Maharashtra population. In 2001 census, this figure for Samba District was at 2.69
percent of Maharashtra population.
There was change of 17.01 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Samba District recorded increase
of 29.01 percent to its population compared to 1991.
